1. Approval of minutes: The September 2009 NPNPA minutes were approved as written. Second by Mike Hill CRNP/Julia Roussos CRNP 2. Introduction of NPNPA members present: All members introduced self indicating type of NP and current position. 3. Membership Report: For the year end 2009, we had 74 paid membership. Student CRNP membership remains low. 4. Treasurer Report: Beginining balance for 2010-$29,541.62 (combination of CD, Savings, and Checking). Payments made to coalition, for stamps, mailings, and $1600.00 to 4 schlorship winners. Complete copy on file. 5. Coalition Report: Coalition reps are Diane Horneman CRNP and Julia Roussos (2010-2012). Big thank-you to outgoing reps: Paul Dill CRNP and Mike Hill CRNP The Bayfront NPNPA Conference was a huge sucesss. Total profit and distribution to be discusses at next meeting. $6000.00 dollars was saved by not mailing the events handouts. Thanks to Julia for putting together such a nice Chinese Auction Basket which depicted the Erie region. 7. New Business: a) Mailings and Membership: with stamp prices now at 47 cents, mailings to all 240 members prior to every meeting costs about $600.00/year. The group voted to only send out a complete mailing once a year, with NPNPA membership application, and a list of the years meeting dates with location. Voted yes=19, no=0. Members to be updated via email one week prior for RSVP. Only those members without current email will receive by United States mail. b) Current Location for meetings at a central place in Edinboro PA, very accomodating. Marlene is contact name. Cost is $25.00/meeting. c) 2010 NPNPA meeting dates-6 meetings this year. Dates/Times and Location are listed on website-npnpa.org d) Pharmacology Conference for NP's-earn 8 hours of pharm credit. RSVP by February 2010 to Lynn McGrath at Lecom. Everyone should of received a flyer via mail. NPNPA meeting to follow at 5:30-7pm. Dinner will be provided. e) Activity for Meeting: Completed CEU article: Inflammatory and Pathophysiologic Differences between COPD and Asthma. Journal: Practicing Clinicians.com-we earned 1 CME credit. Thanks to Julia Roussos CRNP for bringing article. f) Prescriptive Authority Change Form-now available. Increases CRNP to prescribe Schedule II for 30 days, Schedule III for 90 days and Schedule 4 for 90 days. Form is available at www.dos.state.pa.us/nurse. Questions email st_nurse@state.pa.us Sample form was shared with members present. g) Next PACNP conference will be Nov 12, 13th 2010 at Sheraton in Harrisburg. Please try to attend. h) 3rd meeting of the year (5-22-10) will not be a ceu article review. Instead Diane Horneman will arrange with the Stryker rep to discuss Treatment of Joint Pain. Lunch will be provided by Stryker. i) Haiti Disaster: The members voted to donate $500.00 to the Red Cross and $500.00 to Doctors without Borders, USA. Voted: 19 =yes-0=no j) Election of officers held for Vice-President and Treasurer We had (2) candidates for VP ( Pat Akerly and Tammy Luey) and one for Treasurer (Carol Teresi). Ballot was distributed. Very close race. Pat (10 votes) and Tammy (9) votes. Pat Akerly CRNP-voted in as new Vice President (2010-2012) & Carol Teresi CRNP-voted in as new Treasurer (2010-2012). Congradulations They will join Diane Horneman-President, and Carol Hager-Secretary Big Thank-you to Terri Vickey CRNP-outgoing Vice President and Diane Adiutori CRNP outgoing Treasurer for their many years of service. k) All reminded NPNPA memberships due by May 1 2010 to be included in PACNP mailings and voting rights. 2010 Schlorship Applications due by Sept. 15th 2010. Both forms available on website. l) Membership to American Academy of Nurse Practitioners will be renewed 1-30-2010 for $185.00. New ruling from AANP-all conferences giving more than 16 hours CEU will need to send in application 45 days before the event. m) New Treasurer (Carol Teresi CRNP) and Diane Horneman CRNP (NPNPA President) will meet at Northwest Bank for change of signature cards for deposits, etc. Michael Hill-Past President has asked to be taken off Northwest Account. Diane Adiutori- CRNP outgoing treasurer (2004-Jan 2010) will be removed.
